Replica K&A Barge Houseboat
Location: Hoo, Kent
Premier Houseboats are pleased to present Unity, a replica of an 1896 Kennet & Avon barge of the same name, built in 2005 and now on a secure residential mooring on the river Medway at Hoo in Kent.
Unity has been well insulated and fitted out using high quality materials, and offers great space as well as being easily navigable should you wish to cruise. The large lounge area has plenty of natural light, excellent headroom, and a wood burner that compliments the diesel fired central heating.
The kitchen has a beautiful diesel fired Rayburn, lots of storage and work surface, a fridge/freezer and a microwave. The bathroom has a large shower cubicle, hand basin, new toilet and heated towel rail.
There are two good sized double cabins, the second and larger of the two also has access to the engine room and another exit out of the boat. The engine room also houses 24 batteries, the roof of the boat is largely covered with solar panels.
There are good outside areas at either end of the boat to enjoy your surroundings and enable easy navigation.
Unity is a charming looking barge, unusual as there is no wheelhouse and therefore the accommodation is all on one level, making ongoing costs such as heating very affordable. The boat is freehold and the residential mooring is leased.
