Premier Houseboats are pleased to present Cornelia Elizabeth, a Dutch barge in need of some modernisation, with huge potential and on a secure residential mooring.
Cornelia Elizabeth offers a good amount of living space, and can be lived on as is with a small amount of work, or can have a more thorough refit depending on your tastes. The new wheelhouse was built by the current owners, who due to ill health are unable to complete the project.
The new wheelhouse is nice and light, with doors leading to a small back deck, ideal to enjoy the summer evenings. Steps lead down to the saloon, a really good size with plenty of storage built in, and a brand new multi fuel stove which, as well as being able to heat the entire boat, provides a great focal point to this living area.
Next is the bathroom, with half sized bath and shower attachment, hand basin and brand new toilet which needs plumbing in. Past the bathroom is the kitchen, a good sized area offering ample storage and work surface, with a sink, oven and fridge.
Through from the kitchen is the main bedroom, with built in double bed, plenty of storage, and walk in wardrobe areas either side of the door.
Cornelia Elizabeth has an engine which hasn't run for several years, but could be serviced to run again if needed. Alternatively the engine room could be cleared out to possibly create a second bedroom. There is a diesel fired central heating system in place, however this does need some work and therefore could be replaced with a more efficient new gas combi boiler.
Externally Cornelia Elizabeth could do with painting, but there is good usable space. She was last out of the water seven years ago when purchased by the current owners. She is moored alongside a bank and has had a small decking area put in place.
Cornelia Elizabeth offers a good amount of space, great potential, and would make a lovely home, whether you choose to incorporate her characterful interior or completely refurbish her. She is ideal if you are looking for a first home or looking to downsize, and is on a mooring within 20 minutes walk of Rochester High Street.
